Lloyd appointed match referee for Jubilee ODI

Mumbai:Clive Lloyd of the West Indies has been appointed as the International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee for the Platinum Jubilee One-day International between India and Pakistan which is scheduled to be played at Kolkata's Eden Gardens on November 13.

Simon Taufel of Australia would be one of the two on-field umpires standing in the match. The other umpire is yet to be announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), according to information available here.

Meanwhile, former New Zealand captain Jeff Crowe has been nominated as the match referee for the two-Test series between India and South Africa next month. The Tests are to be held at Kanpur's Green Park (Nov 20-24) and at the Eden Gardens (Nov 28-Dec 2).

Australians Daryl Harper and Taufel would officiate as on-field umpires in this series.

For India's tour to Bangladesh in December, Englishman Chris Broad would be the ICC match referee.

Pakistan's Aleem Dar and England's Jeremy Lloyds would be the umpires for the first Test while another Englishman Mark Benson and Dar would do duty in the second Test.

Dar would also officiate as the ICC-appointed umpire in the first and third ODI while Benson would do the job in the second ODI.
