Hyderabad:Andhra Pradesh High Court today ordered that the ban on advertisement of Pepsi, featuring Indian cricket captain Saurav Ganguly and maestro Sachin Tendulkar, would continue till further orders.

The High Court, on October 6, had admitted a writ petition filed by one Uma Mamidipudi seeking action against the softdrink company for its advertisement which depicts child labour.

The division bench comprising Justice B Sudharshan Reddy and Justice K C Bhanu had issued notices to Ganguly, Tendulkar, Indian cricket board (BCCI), Sony Entertainment Network and the Union Government on October 7 and made it returnable today.

While responding to the notices, the respondents sought three weeks' time to file their affidavits to which the court agreed and set the next date of hearing after three weeks.

Petitioner's Counsel A Sudharshan Reddy contended that the advertisement, which depicts a child carrying the Pepsi drink and offering it to the Indian team, amounts to child labour and violation of Articles 21, 24 and 45 of the Constitution.
