London:Lavishing praise on England captain Michael Vaughan, former captain Nasser Hussain said his latters laid-back style suits the current England side.

"I don't think Vaughan's style would have worked when I was captain of the side. But at the same time, I don't think my style would have worked now," he said.

Hussain said Vaughan's handling of the talented trio of Andrew Flintoff, Steve Harmison and Andrew Strauss was key to their successes in recent times.

"Vaughan has been exceptional in this regard. He's given the likes of Andrew Flintoff, Steve Harmison and Andrew Strauss the confidence and liberty to go out in the middle and enjoy the game and the results are there for everyone to see," Hussain said.

"That's exactly what Harmison and Flintoff need. You can see how they have progressed. They needed me to take them to a certain level and then Vaughan to take them that extra distance," he added.
