Sri Lanka win toss and bat in Faisalabad Test

Faisalabad:Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat in the first Test against Pakistan at the Iqbal stadium here.

Sri Lanka, having beaten Pakistan to win the tri-series one-day tournament last week, decided to play left arm spinner Rangana Herath and three seamers along with off-spinning allrounder Thilan Samaraweera.

Pakistan brought in leg-spinner Danish Kaneria and included three seamers in Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami and Abdul Razzaq.

Both teams have agreed to play 83 overs a day instead of regular 90 due to shorter winter days.

Pakistan: Inzamam-ul Haq (capt), Yasir Hameed, Imran Farhat, Asim Kamal, Yousuf Youhana, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, Moin Khan, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami, Danish Kaneria. 12th man: Rana Naveed-ul Hassan
