Speed hunters to hunt in Bangalore

Bangalore:Bangalore leg of ESPN's "Scorpio Speedster" contest, a nation-wide hunt for India's fastest bowler, would be held for two days from tomorrow.

The ten-city hunt began on September 30 at Mumbai and Sunit Singh, with 133 kmh during the Ahmedabad leg, currently leads the table.

Bangalore is the fifth leg; the contest would then move to Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, New Delhi and Chandigarh, with the final slated for December 19 in Mumbai, organisers IMG said in a statement.

Last year, Bangalore's N C Aiyappa was the winner, notching up 135 kmh.

The contest is open to all above the age of 16 years, it was stated.

The winner of the national final takes home Rs 75,000 and the chance to attend a three-week training programme at the Australian Centre of Excellence in Brisbane.
