London:Hitherto Australian cricket academy head coach Bennet King will take charge as new coach of West Indies.

The 39-year-old King, who succeeds Gus Logie, is the first overseas coach to be in charge of the Windies team.

It's worth mentioning that Logie's contract was terminated by mutual consent despite the team winning cornering the ICC Champions Trophy glory.

King oozed confidence that the West Indies can be a force in world cricket.

"I'm looking forward to this assignment. I'm pretty confident that the West Indies can be be a force once again to be reckoned with in both forms of the game," King said.

King has inked a three year deal and the One-day tri-series in Australia in January will be his first assignment.
