Colombo:Sri Lankan selectors have ignored dashing wicketkeeper batsman Romesh Kaluwitharana and opener Avishka Gunawardene for the forthcoming tour of New Zealand.

The duo were left out of the 20-man- squad for the Kiwi trip during which they would play Two tests and five One-day internationals.

Star off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, who was tipped to make the cut after recuperating from a long injury-lay off following a shoulder surgery, has also not been named in the 20-man party.

Sri Lanka squad: Marvan Atapattu (captain), Mahela Jayawardene, Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara, T.M. Dilshan, Chaminda Vaas, Upul Chandana, Nuwan Zoysa, Dilhara Fernando, Rangana Herath, Saman Jayantha, Thilan Samaraweera, T. Kandamby, Kaushal Lokuarachchi, Lasitha Malinga, Ian Daniel, F. Maharoof, Nuwan Kulasekara, Jehan Mubarak and Prasanna Jayawardene.
