Lahore:Calling spade a spade, Pakistan captain Inzamamul Haq said he differed with the views expressed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar M. Khan that the current team lacked fighting spirit as compared to the side that toured India in 1999.

The burly Pakistan skipper said that it was unfair to the compare the present side with the one that toured India in 1999.

"I do not agree with the views of the chairman. I don't think that it is fair to compare the two sides because the 1999's team had eight world class players in its ranks while the present squad is going through the rebuilding stage," Inzamam said here.

It may be mentioned here that Shaharyar Khan's remarks appeared in a section of press on Tuesday.

Inzamam was asserted that he also does not agree with the views of Pakistan selection committee chairman Wasim Bari that the selectors should have a role in picking the final eleven. he said.

"It is the right of the captain to select the final eleven. Selection of the squad is the job of the selection committee," Inzamam said.
