ICC Intercontinental matches postponed

London:The semi-finals and final of the ICC Intercontinental Cup 2004, has been put off by a day to respect the period of mourning for the former UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who passed away on November two, the ICC confirmed here today.

The semis, which was to be held from November 16-18, will now be held from November 17-19. The final showdown has been moved back by a day. Originally slated to be held from November 20-22, it will now be played from November 21-23.

The UAE is currently passing through a state of national mourning after the death of its leader and there will be no competitive sporting activities in the region until after 16 November.

Canada, Kenya, Scotland and UAE will do battle for the first ever ICC Intercontinental Cup trophy from 17-23 November.
