Confident Hyderabad take on Baroda

Hyderabad:After outright victory against Maharashtra, hosts Hyderabad will now take on formidableBaroda in the third Ranji Trophy encounter in the Elite A category at Gymkhana grounds from tomorrow.

The shake-up worked well for hosts, who opened their account with full four points, as the new inductions Shashank Nag and Fahad Shahnawaz came good.

Anirudh Singh, Arjun Yadav, Daniiel Manohar, rising star Ambati Tirupati Rayudu, new comer Shashank Nag continue to be the main batting hope for hosts.

Anirudh cracked a timely century against Maharashtra and is in good nick and debutant Shashank scored half century and will be looking for more runs in this encounter, while speedster N P Singh turned the match with a six wicket haul in the second innings.

Skipper L Venkatapati Raju will lead the bowling attack for hosts while new comer Shahnawaz had bowled well in the previous match picking up a couple of wickets.

Visitors have the experience and skill of skipper Jacob Martin and his deputy Connor Williams with Kiran Powar, Rajesh Powar and veteran wicket-keeper Nayan Mongia adding to the strength of Baroda.

Yusuf Pathan, Rakesh Patel and Irfan Pathan (Sr) are also in the ranks of Baroda to test the Hyderabad batting skills.
