"Its a brilliant performance. Shows how determined he is... How focussed. He deserves it. I'm extremely happy. I wish he gets his 500th wicket as quickly as possible," Prasanna told PTI.
Commenting on critics' view that Kumble could turn the ball, Prasanna said "he has defied the theory that to get success a spinner needs to turn the ball in a big way.
"He has proved that a spinner can be successful if he can maintain a good line and length and have the will power to take wickets even if he cannot turn the ball," he said.
Prasanna regretted that he could not be a witness to Kumble's feat at the Eden Gardens today as he was down with flu.
