Karnataka skittled out Goa for a paltry 89 in the second innings, having bundled out their rivals for 102 in the first essay and scoring 220 in reply, to gather five points, including one bonus point, on the second day of the tie. Gaurav Dhiman, who grabbed four wickets in the Goa first innings, was once again the wrecker-in-chief for Karnataka. The opening bowler was in devastating form with a haul of 6 for 26 in only 12.1 overs.
Dhiman was well supported as in the first innings by R Ninan (3 for 21) as Goa collapsed in less than three hours and were all out in the 39th over.
There was little of note in the Goa second innings barring one-down Ilyas Naroo's 112-minute vigil in making 32 for a losing cause.
Earlier, Karnataka carried on from their overnight 126 for 6 to cross the 200 mark, thanks in the main to number six Ganesh Satish's 77 (241 minutes, with 8 fours). He was unbeaten on 30 last evening.
Goa medium pacer Sourabh Bandekar and slow left arm bowler Kiran Pednekar shared six wickets equally in the Karnataka first innings.
Scores: Goa 102 and 89 (Ilyas Naroo 32; Gaurav Dhiman 6 for 26, R Ninan 3 for 21) lost to Karnataka 220 by an innings and 29 runs
