Karachi:Pakistan seam bowler Umar Gul, who was forced to miss the on going Pakistan's tour of Australia, because of a prolonged injury, will travel to South Africa next month to consult doctors in Cape Town to expedite his return to international action.

The rangy right-arm bowler, who knocked the stuffing out of the Indian batsmen with superb returns of 5-31, during the series-leveling win against India at Lahore last April, suffered two stress-fractures and hasn't played for Pakistan since then.

The Pakistan daily The News, quoted the speedster saying that he was hoping to be fit for much-awaited India tour beginning in February 2005.

"I'm so keen to make the India tour. I am feeling ok now but I will only know my proper fitness position once I start bowling again," the newspaper quoted him saying.

"I have been following the exercises and training course advised to me by the doctors in Cape Town and also the team fitness trainer and physio for the last few months and already I feel better," the paper quoted him.
