Ahmedabad:After a disastrous start, Gujarat managed to score 190 for three wickets on the opening day of the four-day Elite B' Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh.

Gujarat's recovery was scripted by an unbeaten sparkling century by middle-order bastman Kirit Damani, who cracked 112 runs with one six and 14 fours.

Electing to bat, Gujarat were in for early trouble when they lost both their openers Hem Joshipura (3) and Akash Christian (6).

Damani then added valuable runs with Bhavik Thaker (52) as the duo tried to salvage the situation before Thaker was trapped leg before by Sunil Dholpure.

For Madhya Pradesh, Sanjay Pandey was the best bowler on view taking three wickets. Dholpure took one wicket.
