KRL All India Cricket Tourney from tomorrow

Kochi:The league round of the Phase-II of the 18th Kochin Refineries Limited (KRL) All India Cricket Tournament would be played at the KRL Oval grounds here from tomorrow, according to Prasad Clemence, manager (sports) KRL, here today.

Eight teams are divided into two Pools. Pool 'A' will have Good Knight Cricket Club, captained by Indian Test cricketer Sadagopan Ramesh, Southern Railways, Chennai, Eagle Cricket Club, Chennai and the qualifier Swantons Cricket Club, Ernakulam which has Indian pace bowler Tinu Yohannan in their ranks.

Pool 'B' comprises DTDC, Bangalore, captained by former Test cricketer David Johnson, Central Excise, Chennai, State Bank of India, Chennai and Hosts Kochi Refineries.

The league rounds matches will be played from tomorrow to January 3. The two toppers from each pool will play the semi-finals on January 3 and the final is slated for January 5.

Southern Railway will take on Swantons Cricket Club while SBI will meet Central Excise on December 30.
