Zimbabwe bowlers toil in tour opener

Chittagong:Until Saturday, Stuart Matsikenyeri was known more for his batting abilities. But on day one of the tour oepner against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI, he brought out his bowling skills to the fore as he emerged as Zimbabwe's most successful bowler after the visitors were made to toil in Chittagong.

Matsikenyeri, bowled his leg-spinners to good effect, snaffling 4 for 58 as the Bangladesh Cricket Board XI piled on the runs before declaring at 316-7. At stumps, Zimbabwe openers Matsikenyeri and Barney Rogers played out the last ten overs safely to reach 41for no loss.

The highlight of BCB XI's innings was an impressive unbeaten 102 by Tushar Imran. Nafees Ahmed was the notable contributor chipping in with a fine 97.

This is the only tour game for the visitors before the two Test series kickstarts. The first Test begins in Chittagong on January 6.
