Ahmedabad:Some fine bowling by Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan and half centuries by Satyajit Parab and Jacob Martin helped Baroda beat Mumbai by seven wickets in a West Zone Ranji Trophy one-day match here today.

Mumbai, who won the toss and elected to bat, were all out for 169. The team had a disastrous start when it lost both the openers Vinayak Mane (0) and Wasim Jaffer (7).

Mane was caught by Vimal Joshi off Irfan Pathan when he tried to nudge the ball, while Jaffar was trapped leg before by Pathan.

Barring Vinayak Samant who managed to score 49 and Vineet Indulkar who made 32, the performance of other Mumbai batsmen were dismal.

They meekly caved in to the fiery bowling by Irfan and Yusuf who both took three wickets each. Sankalp Vora took two wickets.

Though Baroda lost opener Connor Williams (0) when he was trapped leg before by Rahul Thakur, the other opener Parab salvaged the situation by notching up 79 runs.

Parab's score was studded with eight hits to the fence while Martin's 52 runs contained two boundries and a six.

Today's win gave Baroda five points.
