Put into bat, Railways openers G Shankar Rao (42, 4x4) and Amit Pagnis (50, 4x7) added 95 runs for the first wicket to give their team a comfortable start.
However, Abbas Ali got the much needed break when Pagnis was bowled on a straight delivery. Later, Sanjay Pandey bowled Rao to claim the second wicket for MP.
J P Yadav (31), Sanjay Bangar (60, 4x1, 6x2) and Shreyas Khanolkar (27), contributed to their team's total and the entire team was all out for 258 in their allotted 50 overs.
Chasing the target, MP openers Naman Ojha (69, 4x9) and Amit Pal (7) added 30 run for the first wicket, but Pal was bowled by J P Yadav in the eighth over to give first blow to the hosts.
Except Abbas Ali (29), Devendra Bundela (22), Brajesh Tomar (20) and Rahul Bakshi (34), other MP batsmen could not contribute much and fell prey to the tight bowling and fielding by the railmen.
Yadav claimed three wickets for Railways while Madan Yadav, Sanjay Bangar and G Shankar Rao claimed two wickets each to bowl out MP for 222 in 46.4 overs.
Railways got four points from the match while MP got none.
