Victoria flounder against Western Australia

Perth:Western Australia bundled out Victoria for a paltry 155 on the first day of their Sheffield Shield match and were in a commanding position on 129 without loss at close of play.

Victorian captain Cameron White won the toss and elected to bat but from then on things went downhill for the visitors on Sunday.

It took just two sessions for the Western Australian attack to dismiss Victoria, with Brad Williams taking 3-41 and fellow pacemen Ben Edmondson 3-61.

Four wickets fell before lunch, with Matthew Elliott making four, Jon Moss a duck and and David Hussey six.

In the home side's reply Mike Hussey was unbeaten on 69 and Test opener Justin Langer 59 not out at stumps.

In Perth (day one): Victoria 155 (J. Arnberger 53, B. Hodge 37; B. Williams 3-41, B. Edmondson 3-61); Western Australia 129 for no loss (M. Hussey 69 no, J. Langer 59 no).
