Sydney:Former Australian ODI specialist Michael Bevan has opted out of the tsunami charity match in New Zealand as he wants to captain the Prime Minister's XI which he considers as a great honour as it would enable him to play in his home town of Canberra in the twilight of his career.

Bevan is not the only player to withdraw from the opening World XI - New Zealand match of the fund-raising series starting on Saturday. Zimbabwe's Andy Flower also pulled out of the match.
