With four India players in their ranks, South hold a slight edge over their rivals led by Indian seamer Ajit Agarkar.
Laxman will be expecting good scores from his deputy S Sriram, Indian stumper Dinesh Karthik, Karnataka's Roland Barrington, Y Venugopala Rao and S Vidhyuth while their bowling will be spearheaded by N C Ayiappa, former Indian seamer Tinu Yohanan and Srikumar Nair.
They also have players like Swapnil Asnodkar, S Badrinath, Arjun Yadav, R Jesuraj and Vishnu Wardan to pick from.
West Zone, who were given a flying start in their previous match against East Zone by the two in-form batsmen Satyajit Parab and Dhiraj Yadav, would be looking for a repeat performance from the duo.
Agarkar will also be hoping for big scores from Vinayak Mane, Amol Muzumdar and Parthiv Patel, who had a very good outing in their previous match which they won by 63 runs.
Their bowlers too did well to restrict East to just 243 runs and Agarkar will be hoping for a repeat performance by his frontline bowlers Irfan Pathan (sr) and Ranjit Khirid and spinners Rajesh Pawar, Yusuf Pathan and Niraj Patel.
Paras Mhambrey is the coach of West Zone while South is coached by Sharad Pednekar.
