Kallis now leads the list with 893 points while Dravid is in second spot with 882 points, according to an International Cricket Council release here today.
Virender Sehwag (808) and Sachin Tendulkar (778) maintained their sixth and seventh spots respectively.
England's Andrew Strauss finished the series as his country's highest ranked batsman, in tenth place, with Marcus Trescothick next highest at 17th, the release added.
England paceman Steve Harmison began the five-Test series at number one in the bowlers list, but a below par performance in South Africa saw him slide down eight places to 9th, just ahead of Matthew Hoggard (10th) and Andrew Flintoff (12th).
Former South African captain Shaun Pollock (3rd) and Makhaya Ntini (7th) both improved their rankings over the series, the release said.
