Goergetown:The recent floods in Guyana have compelled the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to alter Guyana's upcoming 5th and 8th round fixtures next month in the Carib Beer Series.

The WICB has acceded to a request put in by the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) to reverse the home and away fixtures with Barbados next month.

Guyana's fifth round fixture against the Barbadians is now re-scheduled for Barbados from February 4-7, instead of Guyana's Test ground Bourda, and the eighth round encounter between the two teams, which originally slated for Barbados, has been shifted to Bourda from February 25-28.

Heavy torrential rains have lashed Guyana in the past week, triggering widespread flooding - causing at least five deaths - especially along the East Coast Demerara and parts of the capital.
