Kanpur:Preparation for hosting one-day international between India and Pakistan at the Green Park Stadium was in full swing here.

Member of BCCI pitch and ground committee Anand Shukla visited the stadium yesterday and expressed his satisfaction over preparation of ground and pitch.

Shukla, who was on a private visit of the city, told mediapersons that cutting of grass and work on the pitch was quite satisfactory.

"Though the date for the One-dayer at Kanpur has not yet been announced but by the time Pakistan cricket team will arrive, the ground and pitch would be ready and give a good cricket," he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Sports Officer of the stadium, Brijesh Kumar, said he had visited Lucknow and submitted a plan for repairing students gallary, public gallary and boundry wall of the stadium and was expecting release of funds shortly.

Kumar said state PWD officials have also inspected both gallary and boundary walls and assured that they would complete the work within one month.

Pakistan will begin their 45-day tour of India on February 25 to play three Tests followed by five One-dayers.
