Afridi sets new world record with 190 sixes

Sydney:Big-hitting Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi set the world record for clubbing most sixes in One-day International (ODIs) history when he hit his 190th six during his knock of 26 in the first VB series final against Australia in Melbourne.

Afridi, overhauled the record of Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya, who achieved the feat in 325 ODIs innings while Afridi achieved the mark in 189th innings.

The flambyoant catapulted himself into internatinal attention when as a teenager in 1996 he swatted the fastest ODI hundred against Sri Lanka at Nairobi by scoring a century of mere 37 balls.
