COLOMBO (AFP):The world's top Test wicket taker Shane Warne will visit Sri Lanka to help raise money for tsunami survivors, organisers of the charity said.

Warne will arrive Tuesday in a joint effort with Sri Lanka's star spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, his manager Kushil Gunasekara said on Monday.

"They will both travel to Galle, will visit the Galle Stadium that was badly damaged as well as the Seenigama village where lots of school boy cricketers were affected," Gunasekara told AFP.

Muralitharan, 32, who is the world's highest test wicket taker after Warne, is from Sri Lanka's central region of Kandy which was unaffected by the December 26 disaster that killed nearly 31,000 people in Sri Lanka.

However, he was keen to help survivors across the country, Gunasekara said, adding that a charity dinner was planned to raise money to help victims.

Sri Lanka's world cup winning skipper Arjuna Ranatunga is also expected at the charity event.
