Ahmedabad:Noted cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad on Saturday urged the corporate world to support young cricketers who were "putting their heart and soul into the game at the cost of their studies and career".

"Young cricketers show good promise and hence it should be nurtured by assuring them jobs in the corporate world so that they can concentrate on the game", he said at the opening of "Cricket Tournament for a Cause", organised by an NGO 'Samvedana'.

Gaekwad said the interest, which the ensuing Indo-Pak cricket match has generated, especially if Pakistan would play in Ahmedabad, was indicative of people's craze for the sport.

A total of 16 teams including Indian Oil Corporation, Grasim Industries Ltd, Reliance Industries, Tata Teleservices Ltd, Central Bank of India, Voltas Limited, Times of India and others would take part in the tournament.
