Perth:Left-arm pace bowler Emma Twining bowled a devastating spell of bowling as Australia notched a three-wicket victory to complete a 3-0 whitewash over New Zealand in the final tie of the annual Rose Bowl series at the Waca ground here.

In a match that was rearranged as a day-night affair after flooding on the Waca pitch caused a delay, New Zealand batted first and started disastrously losing wickets at regular intervals in the face of some disciplined bowling by the Southern Stars, spearheaded byEmma Twining (4-17) and were shot out for paltry 114.

Chasing 115 for victory, captain Karen Rolton led from the front, scoring a solid 43 to guide the hosts home. For New Zealand, Helen Watson tried to bring the visitors into the game, triggering a collapse in the middle-overs claiming three wickets but that was not enough as Australia romped home with 4.3 overs to spare.

The annual Rose Bowl series serves as a warm-up for the Women's Cricket World Cup beginning from March 22 in South Africa.
