Harare:Zimbabwe cricket got a further boost when three more so-called rebel players-batsmen Stuart Carlisle, Trevor Gripper and Craig Wishart signed new contracts with Zimbabwe Cricket paving the way for their return to the national side.

The trio can hope to resume their international careers when New Zealand tour later this year.

It may be mentioned here that former captain Heath Streak and all-rounder Andy Blignaut returned to international action on the recent tour to South Africa after a logjam, which had lasted almost a year.

The return of Carlisle, Gripper and Wishart would add much needed experience and solidity to the Zimbabwe batting line-up.

The dispute was sparked off in last April when Streak was dumped as Zimbabwe captain and replaced by young Tatenda Taibu. The rebels took legal action, accusing Zimbabwe Cricket of racism, but the allegations were dismissed after an International Cricket Council inquiry.
