New Delhi:Haryana Minister Surender Singh, who died in a plane crash today, was not just the younger brother of BCCI President Randhir Singh Mahendra, but was a cricketer in his own right.

Surender was a member of the cricket team of Parliament and had been associated with it for about a decade whether as an MP or a former MP.

At a match held in Haryana sometime back, Surender brought the stands down by hitting three sixes at the same spot in four balls, recalls Mohan Rawle, Shivsena MP and a member of the team.

The team with which Kirti Azad, Chetan Chauhan, Arun Jaitley and K P Singh Deo have been associated, has fond memories of Surender as the Haryana Minister was a team man to the core who would always enliven the atmosphere on the field as also off it, Rawle says.
