Georgetown:West Indies selectors have recalled former captain and champion batsman Brian Lara and three others for second Test against South Africa.

The left-hander was called up along with batsmen Ramnaresh Sarwan and Chris Gayle, and allrounder Dwayne Bravo.

It's worth mentioning that the West Indies Cricket Board had ruled them and three others ineligible because they had personal endorsement contracts with telecommunications giant Cable and Wireless, a rival of the Irish company Digicel, the team's new sponsor.

Interstingly, Guyana's Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been retained as captain for the second Test against South Africa starting in Trinidad on Friday depsite the return of Lara.
