Dhaka:Australian -born Bangladesh cricket coach Dav Whatmore has put to rest media speculation about his reported move linking him to become coach of the Indian team after the conclusion of the tenure of present incumbent John Wright at the end of the ongoing India-Pakistan series.

The 50-year-old coach was quoted as saying in a leading Bangladesh daily-The Daily Star that he couldn't recall when exactly he made those comments about his desire to coach the Indian team if such an offer at all comes up.

"I can't remember when it happened. I think it was a long time ago when I said something like that. I don't understand how this came now," the paper quoted.

"It's not proper to talk about these things. Anything about deals or negotiations should come from the employers," he added.

Whatmore's contract expires on April 30 and it is likely that BCB would expedite the process of renewing his contract given that the Tigers have a tough tour of England coming up in May.
