KIOC has it easy over MCC in Under-13 tri-series

Bangalore:Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIOC) defeated Marian Cooray Cricket School, Sri Lanka in the Under 13 "ITC Windsor Sheraton" triangular series being played at Military School, Bangalore.

KIOC won the toss and elected to bat. Skipper Dinesh and prolific scorer Maanik Nath took a while to settle down but once they got the eye in, they tore into the Sri Lankan attack scoring at will. Maanik was the more aggressive scoring 78 not out off just 62 balls inclusive of 16 well struck boundaries. Dinesh remained unbeaten on 72 with the help of 13 fours.

Marian Cooray Cricket School started off well but the left-arm spinners Bharadwaj and Vignesh struck in tandem and with Maanik Nath chipping in with two crucial wickets, the Sri Lankan outfit collapsed from 102 for four to 119 all out in 22.1 overs leaving KIOC comfortable winners by 57 runs.

Marian Cooray Cricket School takes on Bangalore Military School in the second game of the triangular series.

Karnataka Institute Of Cricket: 176 for no loss in 30 overs (Maanik Nath 78 not out, Dinesh Borwankar 72 not out) beat Marian Cooray School of Cricket 119 all out in 22.1 overs (Charitha 46, Marven 23, Bharadwaj Sheshadri 3 for 14, Maanik 2 for 16, Vignesh 2 for 17 and Ankur M 2 for 11) by 57 runs.
