Cairns to hang up his boots after 2007 World Cup

Mangalore:New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns has said that he would retire from the internationalcricket after the World Cup, to be held in West Indies during 2007.

Cairns, who was in Mangalore in connection with plans to help destitutes through Chris Cairns Charitable Foundation, said that to encourage youngsters, he chose to retire from Test cricket.

He said he would concentrate more on the One-day cricket in view of the forthcoming World Cup.

"As soon as the World Cup is over, I will hang my boots in the international cricket," he said.

Replying to a question whether Asian players were ignored by the International Cricket Council (ICC), he replied that he did not feel so and expressed his full confidence in ICC.
