Sydney:Talented Australian eves middle-order batswoman Lisa Sthalekar has called upon veteran Australian captain Belinda Clark not to call it a day after her team had pipped India in the final to corner World Cup glory.

Sthalekar, who notched a fine half-century 55 and was embroiled in a crucial 139-run stand with Karen Rolton in the final game which took the game from India, was quoted as saying in an Australian daily-The Age that experienced players like Clark, and Fitzpatrick should stick around and not to quit en masse which could deplete the side.

"We don't know what Belinda's plans are, we haven't broached the subject with her. I'd love them to keep going a little bit longer," Sthalekar was quoted as saying.

"There's a good mix of senior and junior players in the team now and the older players are really passing on their information now."

"It's so beneficial for us to keep playing with them, so I hope they don't stop now," The Age quoted Sthalekar as saying.
