Colombo:Sri Lanka's cricket officials have said that they are on the look out for a new coach but did not rule out persisting with present Aussie coach John Dyson.

Dyson's 20-month contract expired after the recent series defeat in New Zealand.

According to sources close to the board, efforts are on to recruit a new coach as soon as possible. It is likely that the new incumbent would be appointed for at least a two-year tenure so that they we can start planning thnigs better for the future.

Dav Whatmore, who guided Sri Lanka to the 1996 World Cup triumph is likely to figure in the discussions.
