Melbourne:Former Australian Test opener Matthew Elliott's move to to turn out for South Australia has been rejected by Cricket Victoria but the cricketer is keen on pursuing his desire to move to Adelaide.

Elliott, whose transfer application was rejected by Cricket Victoria has seven days time to appeal against Cricket Victoria's decision.

The left-handed opener is currently in England playing county cricket for Glamorgan and his appeal will be heard by a Cricket Australia grievance tribunal.

It's worth mentioning that Elliott's contract with Cricket Australia expires in June. Victoria had proffered a three-year deal to the prolific opener that would include an assistant coaching role to help with his career post-cricket.
