Hyderabad:Former Indian cricket captain and coach Ajit Wadekar has favoured a foreign coach for the Indian team. Talking to reporters here, Wadekar said that a foreign coach is the need of the hour in the present days of professionalism.

"These are the days of professionalism. All we need is the guy who can deliver the goods."

On the the names of Aussie legend Greg Chappell and Bangladesh coach Dave Whatmore being bandied about as probable candidates for the plum post, Wadekar said that his personal choice would be Greg Chappell as the latter had higher cricketing credentials and can do wonders with the Indian team.

"I would opt for Chappell as he is not only a high-profile person but also a cricketing genious," Wadekar observed.
