The PCB chief was quoted as saying in a Pakistan daily-The News that bowling four to five overs does not give a clear picture of a bowler's fitness.
"What we want is match-fit players and if they are fully fit (for a Test match), they would be considered for selection," he said.
He said that PCB would adopt stringent measures not just for Shoaib but also for the other fast bowlers currently on the injury list. Besides Shoaib, Mohammad Sami, Umar Gul and Shabbir Ahmer are recovering from injuries.
"We've advised the panel to submit their report on these players before the selection committee meeting on May 2. We want absolutely correct information on the fitness of these players,"The News quoted .
Shaharyar, however insisted that the PCB had nothing in personal against Shoaib.
"What we want is fit players and we are looking to doctors' report in this regard," he said and added if Shoaib has attained the match fitness, he would definitely be considered for selection, the paper added.
