New Delhi:Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar belted a dazzling 90-run but that was not enough as Sachin XI as they went down to Sourav XI by four wickets in the Gursharan Singh benefit cricket match at the Ferozeshah Kota stadium here.

Electing to bat first, the master blaster was at his fluent best clubbing boundaries at will as his side was all out for 211 off 28.3 overs. V.V.S Laxman chipped in with a fine 43 while Yuvraj Singh made 27.

For Sourav XI, S Sriram and Rahul Sanghvi bagged two wickets apiece.

Set a target of 212 for victory, Virender Sehwag gave Sourav XI a flying start scoring an aggressive 28. But it was Rahul Dravid who saw Sourav XI home with a solid 58. Former India gloveman Vijay Dahiya contributed a handy 24.

Brief Score: Sachin XI all out 211 (28.3 overs). Sourav XI 214 for six(28.2 overs).

It's worth recalling that the match was played as benefit tie for Gursharan Singh who played a solitary Test and One-day international for India. His run in the domestic circuit was a phenomenal one scoring runs by the bundle.
