Sydney:Cricket Australia (CA) has reportedly decided to extend the deadline for applications for the position of the fourth selector that fell vacant following Allan Border's resignation.

It may be recalled that Allan Border had resigned from the selection panel last month after expressing his desire to be with his family for most of the time.

Border, who crowned Australia to glory in 1987 Reliance World Cup held in the sub-continent had held on to the post for almost seven years.

Despite not receiving any application as of now, CA officials expect the selection process to be over by early June.

According to unofficial sources, former Test spinners Ray Bright and Tom Hogan are in contention to succeed Border.
