London:Riding on his 147 in the Antigua Test, Jacques Kallis has regained his number one batting slot in International Cricket Council (ICC) Test ratings thereby dislodging Brian Lara from the top of the rankings.

In the team rankings, South Africa's series win over the Caribbeans lifted them to 100 points alongside Sri Lanka, who hold fifth place with a superior total when calculated to three decimal places. West Indies stay in eighth, 24 points behind the Kiwis.

Kallis, Lara, Rahul Dravid and Ricky Ponting occupy the first four batting slots with only 23 points separating them.

Chris Gayle's career-best 317 elevated him to a career-high 24th place while South African skipper Graeme Smith jumped two spots to re-enter the top 10.

In the bowling chart South African Shaun Pollock slipped below the 800-point mark for the first time in seven years but that didn't deter him from holding on to third position.

His fellow compatriots Makhaya Ntini and Andre Nel are also closing in on their teammate by clinching the fifth and eights spots respectively.
