Amarnath, Chappell shortlisted for coach post

Kolkata:World Cup winning hero Mohinder Amarnath and former Test player Sandeep Patil emerged as latest contenders for Indian cricket team's coaching post after candidates were shortlisted today.

Amarnath and Patil along with former Australian Test players Greg Chappell and Tom Moody were the four shortlisted by a six-member committee formed by the Indian cricket board to appoint a coach after a meeting here.

The candidates would be called for an interview, the date of which would be finalised after considering the availability of the candidates, a BCCI release said.

Former Indian captains Sunil Gavaskar, S Venkatraghavan, Ravi Shastri and former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya were the members of the committee which was chaired by President Ranbir Singh Mahendra and convened by Secretary S K Nair.
