Ex-ACB chairman Bob Parish passes away

Melbourne:Former Australian Cricket Board (ACB) chairman Bob Parish died here from pneumonia aged 89, Cricket Australia (CA) said.

A tour manager with the Australian team in the 1960s, Parish served as an administrator at every level of Australian cricket for 56 years.0

He oversaw some of the most turbulent periods of Australian cricket when he was ACB (now Cricket Australia) chairman during the late 1970s, during the Kerry Packer-led World Series Cricket revolution.

Parish served as ACB chairman for eight years in two stints and among his highlights were helping organise cricket's Centenary Test between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1977.
