Wellington:Former New Zealand top-order batsman John Reid will step down from his job as high performance manager of New Zealand Cricket and join the Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC).

Reid will wind up his work with New Zealand Cricket on June 9 and will move to SPARC as senior advisor for talent development.

It' worth recalling that Reid joined the New Zealand Crcicket in 1996 as operations manager and was instumental in setting up their high performance centre at Lincoln University, near Christchurch, and programmes to develop and foster cricket at the grass roots level.
