Gripper, Chibhabha shore up Zimbabwe ~~A~~

Harare:International Trever Gripper and Justice Chibhabha cracked fighting half-centuries to steer Zimbabwe 'A' to 164 for 5 at stumps on the second day against Pakistan 'A' at the Harare Sports Club here.

Gripper made a solid half-century before he fell at the same score. Chibhabha held the innings together slamming an unbeaten 54.

The home side are still 147 runs behind Pakistan's first-innings total of 311.

Opener Neil Ferreira, who struck half-centuries in both innings of the first Test, failed to tick. He departed for 15.

Skipper Carlisle ensured his third successive failure falling for 15.

Earlier, resuming at the overnight score of 256 for six, Pakistan 'A' rode on wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider's dogged resistance to reach a score in excess of 300.

Haider made a painstaking 43 from 189 balls as the visitors were all out for 311 in the first innings.

For Zimbabwe 'A', Blessing Mahwire and Tawanda Mupariwa shared the spoils grabbing six wickets between them.
