Colombo:Former international batsman Michael Tissera has been appointed as Sri Lanka's new team manager.

The 66-year-old Tissera, who featured in three matches in the 1975 World Cup, replaces former Sri Lankan opener-cum wicketkeeper Brendon Kuruppu.

The Sri Lankan authorities have also appointed former international captain Anura Tennekoon, as manager of Sri Lanka 'A' team.

It may be mentioned here that Sri Lanka are slated to play at two Test home series against the West Indies in July, besides a tri-series featuring India.
