London:Irfan Pathan today said rediscovering his wicket-taking ability would be his prime goal when he plays for English county club Middlesex this summer.

"My focus will be on my bowling. I want to get back that old rhythm that I showed in Australia and Pakistan when I entered the Indian team," said Pathan while confirming a 40-day contract with Middlesex starting tomorrow.

Pathan, who received the permission from the Board only last night, will leave for Delhi tomorrow and join Middlesex on Friday.

The 20-year old left arm seamer looked affected by recent criticism on his performance against Pakistan in the home series. "I had one bad series," he said.

The Baroda paceman said he had also improved on his pace after some rigorous workout in the nets in the past few days.

"I used to bowl around 138 kmph mark, now I am touching 144 kmph," he said.

Pathan said he would utilising his stint with Middlesex to improve his fastbowling.

"I will seek the former players whom I will come across there. Wasim (Akram) and Bruce Reid helped me before, and I am keen to speak to more experienced players to improve my skills."
