Kiwi selector Ross Dykes steps down

Wellington:New Zealand national selector Ross Dykes is stepping down from his post to take over as chief executive of the Otago Cricket Association.

The 60-year-old former Auckland wicketkeeper served for 13 years on the selection panel before deciding to take up the Otago job.

Dykes, who never played Test cricket for the Black Caps, is tipped to be replaced by former New Zealand opener Glenn Turner on the four-man panel which also includes legendary all-rounder Sir Richard Hadlee, John Bracewell, and Brian McKechnie.
