Naidu~~s ton goes in vain as Rama Hotel wins a thriller

Bangalore:Opener Rahul Naidu's brilliant hundred for Pizza Corner sub juniors went in vain as Rama Hotel won the closely fought battle with just 3 balls and one wicket to spare in the All India TATA Coffee inter camp cricket tournament conducted by Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIOC).

Batting first, Pizza Corner made 237 for eight in the allotted 30 overs. Rahul Naidu dominated the proceedings with his chanceless 125 that was studded with 18 fours. Only Prayas gave him some support scoring 28 with the help of three fours. Left-arm spinner Mohit D C was the most effective bowler claiming 4 for 39 while medium pacer Sujay picked up 3 for 42.

Chasing 238, opener Saquib thrashed the Pizza Corner bowling scoring a brisk 93 with 15 fours. Mohit D C scored 42 that was laced with six fours while Mayur and Vinod chipped in with 28 each.

Pizza Corner 237 for 8 in 30 overs (Rahul Naidu 125, Prayas 28, Sujay 3 for 42 and Mohit D C 4 for 39) lost to Rama Hotel 239 for 9 in 29.3 overs (Aquib Sharif 93, Mohit D C 42, Vinod 28, Abhishai Jayram 3 for 14 and Yousuf 3 for 30) by 1 wicket.

In another match, left-hander Ankur Biswas scored an unbeaten 80 to help Friends Eleven C C Daddabalapur beat I T C Hotels by a comfortable 7-wicket margin.

Batting first, I T C Hotels were bundled out for 142 in 28.2 overs with only Praveen showing some semblance of resistance by scoring 53. Medium pacers Vignesh and Asim picked up three wickets apiece. Ankur and Uthkarsh made a positive start putting on 96 for the opening stand before Ankur saw the team safely past the target with plenty to spare.
